  • GDP: US$194.9 billion (2015, World Bank estimate)
  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions: 110.9 million metric tons gross emissions in 2012 (108.1 million metric tons net, accounting for LUCF), on a carbon-dioxide equivalent basis. Greece’s 2016 National Inventory Report to the UNFCCC estimated 2014 emissions to be 21.1 million metric tons gross emissions.
  • Energy use per capita: 4,600 kg of oil equivalent, 2013

Important Initiatives related to Climate Change:

INDC: As an EU member nation, Greece’s commitment is contained within the larger European Union INDC, which commits its 28 members to a combined reduction of 40% below 1990 levels by 2030. The text of the European Union INDC can be viewed here.
